A Standout Anniversary Experience
Mark and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Ocean Prime in Sarasota, and from the moment we walked through the door, we knew we were in for something special.
We were warmly greeted by the host, who not only welcomed us but immediately wished us a happy anniversary—a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the evening. Just moments after being seated, we were presented with two glasses of champagne to toast the occasion. It’s small, elegant gestures like this that elevate a dining experience into a lasting memory.
The ambiance at Ocean Prime is sophisticated yet inviting, featuring a contemporary coastal feel and an open layout that seamlessly blends the dining room, bar, and lounge. The service throughout the night was attentive and polished, with our server showing impressive knowledge of the menu—not just the dishes, but how each was prepared.
For appetizers, Mark ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, which was flavorful, pan-fried to golden perfection, and beautifully presented. I went with their special Burrata and cherry tomato salad, served over a pesto purée. It was vibrant, fresh, and full of flavor—exactly what I had hoped for.
Our entrées were equally impressive. Mark’s Colorado Lamb was cooked to a perfect medium rare with a savory crust and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. I can honestly say it’s the best lamb I’ve tasted since leaving England—and yes, I had more than one bite. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, which was cooked to perfection and served over a silky potato purée with a delicate truffle vinaigrette. It was rich, elegant, and incredibly well-balanced.
Having lived in Sarasota for nearly 20 years and dined at many of the area’s top restaurants, I can confidently say that this meal ranks among the best we’ve had. From start to finish, the service, atmosphere, and cuisine were outstanding. Ocean Prime delivered a truly memorable dining experience that felt both elegant and heartfelt—perfect for celebrating a special occasion.
